Festive Family Fun Day – On to 2022

Start the New Year by looking forward and inspiring your hopes and dreams. Take part in craft activities, share a hot meal together and play your part in a performance with Red Sauce Theatre.

The event is free to families in receipt of free school meals in Portsmouth. For others it’s £8 per child.  All adults accompanied by children are free.

Activities are inside Portsmouth Museum and Art Gallery.

An evening with artist Karl Rudziak

Join artist Karl Rudziak and Curator of Art Susan Ward as they explore Karl’s creative process and how he takes inspiration from Portsmouth’s locals. Tour the Portsmouth Revisited II exhibition and have an exclusive look at Karl’s latest works featuring a very familiar local face.

Each walk is 90 minutes long and delivered by our friendly facilitators. For our photography sessions it is advised to bring along your camera phone or camera if you have one. We can provide alternatives if you don’t – just let us know in advance. All materials will be provided for the zine making and printing activities.

5 Weeks of Family Fun – Keep Calm and Carry On

Five Weeks of Family Fun gives children aged 5-11 the opportunity to discover more about Portsmouth, its surroundings and history – as well as a nutritional lunch to enjoy.

All events take place within the grounds of Portsmouth Museum and Art Gallery but will be outdoors, so please dress appropriately. Each session includes a nutritional lunch, and is free for families in receipt of free school meals in Portsmouth, otherwise £7 per child. All adults accompanied by children are free.

The events are designed to be suitable for primary school children aged 5 to 11 years old. Session dates, times and details can be found below.

Places must be booked in advance by phoning Portsmouth Museum & Art Gallery, Tuesday to Sunday between 10am and 4pm, on 023 9283 4779. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times with a maximum ratio of 3 children to 1 adult. Tickets cannot be exchanged and are non-refundable.​​​​​​

Please note, there will be no parking available at Portsmouth Museum & Art Gallery during these events.
